Prior to his pivot into civilian sector, Alvin served for twelve years in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Photographer. During his time in the Marine Corps Alvin served in multiple capacities as a photographer including providing photography support for the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, and the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. As a photojournalist, Alvin has won multiple awards and distinctions, including being honored by the US Department of State and awarded as ‘Best in Show’ for their diplomacy building Art in Embassies photography competition.
While serving at the Pentagon, Alvin was also a regular contributor the weekly Joint Base Myer- Henderson Hall news publication, the Pentagram, as a photographer and reporter.
In his spare time, Alvin is hobbyist farmer with a mechanical inclination and a lover of all things science fiction.
